As you enter a rather plain bungalow it is hard to imagine that quickly you can descend 125 feet underground, into a Cold War world with no natural light, immersed in pitch darkness, being locked behind the nuclear bunkers blast doors!
Since becoming a museum, Kelvedon Hatch Nuclear Bunker has become notorious as a haunted location, several apparitions roam the complex, including a grey figure who moves from room to room. An RAF officer who has been spotted on several occasions, more than one person has had the frightening experience of meeting with a woman in uniform who angrily instructs them to leave the building. A similar experience has also been reported by a visitor walking through the dormitory, he was told to ‘go back’ by a disembodied voice, but there was no-one else in the area.
Dark Encounters’ returns by popular demand to Essex and to the infamous Kelvedon Hatch, with access to all 3 levels of the Bunker, including Ground Floor, Government Floor, sick bay and living quarters. Will we encounter the construction worked buried in cement, or apparitions of previous employees… join the team and find out….

Join Dark Encounters as we carry out a comprehensive paranormal investigation of the site. You will get to investigate for yourselves; setting up experiments, carrying out the experiments and recording your observations. So whether it is a lone vigil in the sick bay, EVP experiments in the offices, or Dowsing experiments in the sleeping quarters you will be in the heart of the action. At the beginning of your evening you will have a briefing on ghost hunting techniques and the plan for the evening. Then you will split into smaller groups to carry out the investigation. The teams will be led by experience investigators who will guide you to the correct areas and how to set up the experiments. There will be regular refreshment breaks and then at the end of the evening all teams will have a debriefing as we report the evidence recorded. We will be looking for correlations of phenomena between the groups and previous investigations we have carried out at the location - all recorded in the Casebook of Dark Encounters from the past fifteen years.
