Dorset’s courthouse from 1797 until 1955 it saw everything from the 1834 trial of the Tolpuddle Martyrs to the 1856 domestic abuse case that inspired Thomas Hardy to write ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’, to victims of mesmerism, child perpetrators and American GIs tried during the Second World War.
Join Dark Encounters as we investigate the prison cells and courtroom of this remarkable location. In safe groups you will get to investigate this location for yourselves; setting up and carrying out the experiments and recording your observations. So whether it is a lone vigil in a jail cells, EVP experiments in one of the jury bench, or Dowsing experiments on the judges seat you will be in the heart of the action. With experiments especially designed for the location this is an investigation not to be missed as we open a new Casebook on the location.
At the beginning of your evening your dedicated team leader will brief you on ghost hunting techniques and the plan for the evening. Then your small 'social bubble' will go off to explore the location and carry out the investigation. The teams will be led by experience investigators who will guide you to the correct areas and how to set up the experiments. There will be regular refreshment breaks and then at the end of the evening all teams will have an online debriefing as we report the evidence recorded. We will be looking for correlations of phenomena between the groups and previous investigations we have carried out at the location - all recorded in the Casebook of Dark Encounters from the past fifteen years.
