Torchlight Assists International Emergency Training Dark Encounters News

The SimEx series is an international training exercise developed to enhance the capabilities of services involved in the response to humanitarian disaster. Including players from government, search and rescue, international NGO’s and supporting organisations.

The scenario based exercise is crucial in creating situations that nurture interoperability between critical services responding to major incidents.

Torchlight Heritage where asked to provide actors to assist in the scenarios, who where tasked to present real life situations for first responders to react to. Torchlight where also asked to provide the services of the organisations Armourer, Who provided Realistic Imitation Firearms, and a Blank Firing capability. This was to assist in creating a realistic ambush situation, in addition to providing props to actors portraying local militia.

Torchlight Heritage also provided a senior member of its team to assist in the coordination of over 300 role players across multiple sites, across an entire county.

“Our organisation has at its core, a social consciousness that ensures we contribute to initiatives good for communities or the world as a whole. We demonstrate this through our work around Heritage Preservation and this opportunity further allowed us to donate, our skills and expertise to a worthy cause.”

Simex is set to be bigger and better in 2018, and the team at Torchlight Heritage looks forward to committing even more to this incredible opportunity to support those, who support us in our times of need.
